A sweet little secretary...

Monday, May 13, 2013
Look at how sweet this secretary looks painted in ASCP Country Gray (which isn't really gray at all).  Headed to the booth if not purchased out of my garage first!
$450

After a little TLC and touch ups, I decided not to paint this china cabinet.  Its in too good of condition to paint this one!
$400

Finally...a new logo!
Isn't it lovely?

LATELY at Ella May Designs...

Thursday, May 9, 2013
Here's a few quick iPhone pics of our new inventory...
Fabulous antique gateleg table from England.  Great condition.

This China Cabinet can be painted completely, paint only inside the glass cabinet, or left as is (with a few touch-ups that I will make).  Great piece....not too large for those small dining rooms, offices, etc.

These are the most divine candles.  I give them as gifts to everyone on my list.  The scents are fabulous names like: Tall Cotton, Southern Charm, Farmhouse, Back Porch, & Front Porch.

This 3 piece set came from a local estate and has the original paint.  Great condition!

Plus a great new addition in the next week or so to Ella May Designs...I cannot wait to share!

Booth Update & the home office/studio chaos

Saturday, January 19, 2013

First of all, a fabulous new artist has begun to share her talents with Ella May Designs...
Introducing whimsical patchwork art by Madeleine.

Here's a few shots of the booth as of January 19.  We rolled one piece of furniture in and it was purchased before we could get it unloaded! Love that plus it was perfect because we had too much for our small space already!

Above are candles from a company in Starkville, Mississippi.  They are DIVINE.  I keep one lit in my house whenever I am home and I just ordered the reed diffusers too.  I put one in my front entry so it always smells wonderful!

And the great recent sales at EMD, the crazy holiday season, & incoming orders has lead to the below state of affairs at my home office/studio space.  Fortunately it is upstairs and I can close the door to the mess. There are boxes from wholesale orders, Christmas items that have not been put away, canvases that are being worked on, tax papers in a stack, old books to be painted...so much chaos.  I am so type A about my house but my studio is just such a busy, creative place that it cannot stay neat! Guess that's a good thing is some ways!

What's up next for EMD?
I have some custom painting work to get done for clients then back to painting some pieces for the booth.  I plan on finishing a few more canvas art pieces in the next few weeks.  I have a shipment of items coming for the booth and plan on ordering some lamps from a great vendor in the coming weeks.  I couldn't fit market into my schedule in January but I am hoping to head out on a trip in February to an antique market. Anyone looking for anything in particular?? Then it will be spring and Easter time and I will start stocking lots of fun stuff!!!

Trend towards more neutral Christmas decor

Saturday, December 8, 2012
It seems that neutral Christmas decor is a big trend right now.  I am incorporating this trend around my own home as well as in Ella May Designs booth.

This is the table in my entry hall.  I added live poinsettias in an antique tool caddy...festive yet understated.

These moss Christmas tree topiaries in aged terracotta pots with burlap ribbon are perfect for mantles or dining tables.  They are sitting on a table runner made from red ticking.  All available in Ella May Designs booth at Sheffield's Antique Mall (Aisle H) in Collierville, Tennessee.

January Updates

Sunday, January 29, 2012
I traveled to an antique market this month and loaded up my car full of goodies.  They are all in my booth and ready for their new home!

I have been working on refinishing an adorable mirror front armoire with scalloped molding along the top.  It is a true antique dating back over 100 years.

New artwork also in the booth as well as a few Valentine goodies!
